Jennifer Almonte
Founder, The I AM Journey
Jennifer Almonte is a sexual violence prevention educator, speaker, and advocate on a mission to promote healthy relationships as an avenue to support a sexual violence-free future. She holds a BA and MS in Criminal Justice from Long Island University and has spent over a decade guiding college students through essential conversations about consent, boundaries, and respect.
As a survivor herself, Jennifer brings both lived experience and professional expertise to her work. She believes that teaching and learning about healthy relationships can transform communities. She facilitates workshops and leads candid, community-based discussions that challenge harmful norms, promote empathy, and uplift the voices of those impacted by sexual violence. Her work centers human connection as a foundation for prevention and culture change.
She has recently expanded her focus to support parents of young children and parents of young adults with disabilities, helping them build early skills around healthy communication, emotional awareness, and bodily autonomy. She believes prevention starts early—and that every family deserves the tools to create safe and respectful relationships.
Jennifer’s advocacy also centers the intersection of sexual violence and disability. As a proud graduate of the GaLEND Program (Georgia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities), she is committed to advancing trauma-informed, accessible care for survivors with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Jennifer is married and the proud mother of a college student and a middle schooler. Her family loves watching movies, trying new foods, and laughing together over the little things.
